New ideas & instruments to improve financial capacity for Spanish SMEs: seminars in Zaragoza & Badajoz

On 6th October 2015, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Zaragoza organized a Rising Awareness Seminar. The seminar intended to explain how to enhance the financial and investment capacity of SMEs and what EU funding is available in this moment. The final scope was to present and provide the tools of InvestHorizon aimed at improving skills and perspectives of SMEs. All this enriched with a unique networking opportunity.




On 28th October 2015, 300 people participated in the Raising Awareness Seminar of InvestHorizon in Badajoz. The event was organized by the Chambers of Commerce of Extremadura and the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, in the framework of InnoCamaras.

The aim of this event was to provide to SMEs the instruments and strategies to succeed in fundraising. During the event the entrepreneurs had the opportunity to participate at conferences, round tables and coaching sessions.

In addition to presentation of the InvestHorizon project, Mireia Badia from Growl SRL, explained how to enhance the financial capacity of SMEs and mid-caps. To follow, EU funding Instruments for Spanish SMEs were presented by José María Piñero (DG EU funds: PO Iniciativa Pyme) and tools to increase SME financial capacity and competences by Francisco Estevan of Green Europe. The event ended with a networking sections between SMEs and financial representatives.


The event started with the presentation of Jorge García Reig, DG EU funds of Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, on financial instruments for SMEs in the context of FEDER 2014-2020 and how to strengthen financial capacities of small and medium enterprises by Ángel González (Universo Crowdfunding). 

The conference continued with the main presentation of InvestHorizon, on how to improve the abilities of SMEs to meet investors by Carmen Ayllón from the Chamber of Commerce of Spain.

Francisco Estevan, Director of Green Europe Consulting, explained which instruments are necessary to improve the financial capacity and competences of SMEs in a context of regional incentives.

During the second part of the event Isabel Balbontín, Chamber of Badajoz, presented the launch of the project EUROINCUBADORA. The project aims to support SMEs to participate at European projects, establishing cooperation and strategies.

The event ended with roundtables about opportunities at EU level and workshops concerning the coaching academies coming up in 2016 within the InvestHorizon project.
